Dutch Eventing Stables maintains a consistent line in order to produce the best possible generation of eventing horses. In short: good sporting pedigrees with the addition of a lot of thoroughbred.
As far as the mares are concerned, we use proven sporting lines, the best mares in the sport of eventing. At present, Dutch Eventing Stables has six mares available for breeding. The foals are born by way of embryo transfer. Have a look at the mares and their descriptions; that will give you an idea.
With regard to stallions, we use thoroughbreds that have a lot to offer, such as Herald 3, Roven or Gemini. Or we use stallions that have proved to breed well.
Dutch Eventing Stables is always on the lookout for exceptional sporting genes and is interested in collaborating with riders and owners of sporting horses, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
Wynona – known in the sport as Wishfull Thinking – was Dutch Eventing Stables’ first breeding mare. This daughter of Latano, out of a Littorio dam, was made available to Gerdine Frens as Junior and Young Rider and she had a wonderful sporting career with her.
The victory in Strzegom during a Juniors competition, silver at the NK Juniors in 2015, silver at the NK Young Riders at CCI 2*-level in 2018 and silver at the NK 2* in Varsseveld, for example. And Gerdine was privileged to represent the Netherlands at the European Championship with Wishfull Thinking, no fewer than three times.
18-year-old Wynona is a mare with a fantastic attitude who always gives her all and does everything in her power to reach the finish safely. We think this is an ideal mare for breeding. She has already produced two beautiful descendants by Herald III. Her filly, Lumos Eclips ES, from 2016 is already taking part in the sport. She had a foal by Pegasus van ‘t Ruytershof (Gemini xx X Bamako de Muze x Diamant de Semilly) this year.
3 Times a Lady
The beautiful large Roven XX mare, 3 Times a Lady, was born Walica. She has always been a very striking figure in the sport. A machine in the field: always in on time, able to perform a Z dressage effortlessly with great results and a fine showjumper.
Dutch Eventing Stables bought this mare on the recommendation of Martin Lips and she has had a very successful sporting period with Angela Kollee.
They were the best performing combination of the Dutch team at the European Championship Juniors, achieving an admirable 18th place. 3 Times a Lady is particularly noticeable due to her really lovely gallop in the field and she has always easily remained inside the time.
3 Times was also stabled with Nina de Haas who is also very impressed with the mare’s qualities. 3 Times a Lady has been used for breeding for 2 years now, producing 4 beautiful descendants in that time, each one a lovely horse of great quality.
Owaola has had a rich and impressive sporting career. The Indoctro x Joost x Abgar XX mare competed successfully as Van Schijndel’s Owaola with Piet Raijmakers at international level. She was later retrained by Tim Lips as an eventing horse, achieving great successes in the CCI 4*, including high classifications in Aken and a victory in Breda.
On the recommendation of Martin Lips, Owaola has been included in the Dutch Eventing Stables Breeding Programme.
Owaola produced the 3-year-old mare, Rustique de Muze, by stallion Mosito van ‘t Hellehof that is now being presented at international level by Karline de Brabander. We’re expecting a foal from Owaola this year, by Casanova de la Pomme.
Malori van 't Verahof
We’re proud to have a mare available in our programme from the very successful eventing and jumping line of Van ‘t Verahof. Malori’s dam is the famous thoroughbred mare, Southern Queen, that has already produced 5 top-quality foals in combination with world champion jumper Vigo d’Arsouilles.
The full brother, Fletch van ‘t Verahof, is the best known due to numerous victories in 4* eventing competitions. He was Belgian champion in 2013 and took 6th place at the WEG (World Equestrian Games) in Caen in 2014. Full brother, Extebaria van ‘t Verahof, competed with Karin Donckers in international 4* competitions, and full brother, Leipheimer van ‘t Verahof, took 4th place at the World Championship Eventing for 7-year-olds in Le Lion d’Angers. Full sister, Masciarelli van ‘t Verahof, jumps internationally.
Malori, only 9 years old, first brought Lovely Lady Dutch ES Gemini XX into the world when she was a 4-year-old and was then gradually trained by Henk-Jan Lozeman who prepared her for the international work.
The 17-year-old Zimbali competed in the sport internationally with the young horsewoman, Olivia Pleijsier.
Sire Tygo was performance champion at the KWPN and won the VHO Trophy as a 10-year-old, with Angelique Hoorn, during the KWPN stallion inspection. Tygo, classified at 1.60m brings horses into the sport that have a really good attitude, great capacity and excellent reflexes.
