As a five-year-old Magic Coconut has only just come to see him, but he has a lot to offer to become a topper. Sire and dam are already that, with Magic Coconut’s top pedigree in jumping combined with a good dash of Thoroughbred. That makes it extra suitable for eventing.

The studbook AES sees the potential of Magic Coconut and has since approved it, the highest award at this young age. The impressive Magic Coconut not only adds size, it also improves canter and jumping ability. In the course and the terrain it is impressive to see how concentrated and simple he is in his work, even when the obstacles get a bit higher and more complex.

Amazone Renske Kroeze characterizes him as a fine workable stallion with a top attitude and with a lot of overview. He also has a lot of balance and an excellent canter. “A stallion with a lot of potential for top sport,” she says. Renske successfully released Magic Coconut in 2021 in the Dutch Eventing Young Horse Trials competition for 4-year-old eventing horses, in which the stallion received excellent marks for dressage, jumping and cross. Magic will again be on the starting list in 2022.

We can already say something about the family of this young stallion: the new German owners of a Magic Coconut foal that was sold through the auction sent pictures and videos of the free-jumping of the yearling, they were so impressed the impression. And Magic Coconut’s full brother, Mr. Coconut, born from the same embryonic flush, was sold as a young horse by Egbert Schep to France, where he became champion of the 4-year-old show jumpers.

Magic Coconut’s sire Carrera VDL has, of course, a very strong basis with the world toppers Cardento and Baloubet du Rouet. But let’s not forget his dam Vantiels Esprit, who jumped 1m45 internationally and is the half-sister of the famous jumping stallion Tinka’s Boy, who shone internationally with Markus Fuchs. Carrera VDL has had many years of top sport with many top classifications up to the highest 1m60 level with Jur Vrieling.

The dam of Magic Coconut is the impressive elite mare Coconut Girl who can do all kinds of things well under Patrick Verbakel who also bred her: she jumps 1m35, runs Z2 dressage and is very successful at international 3*/4* eventing level. . The victory in the 2019 Dutch Eventing Championship at 3* level in Varsseveld was one of the highlights for Coconut Girl.
